This the first day of the "Great Hamburger" run in Midland, TX. My quest is to find the place in Midland that has the Greatest Hamburger. Not easy when everyone has a favorite. I have decided to log my journey and go to the places recommended by my Facebook friends. First day will go to Graham Pharmacy. Recommended by David Mills, JPO. He stated they thought they were worth checking out, so off I go on my scooter. This is Wall Street and the Fire Department is on the corner. This road will take you downtown going East and to Odessa, TX going West.
Here I am. I arrive and the temp in West Tx is, according to me, very hot 98.3 F. Grahams was establish
around 1954 or 1956. It has moved
locations from Old Town Midland to
Wall Street.
As you enter the pharmacy you will see that it is a pharmacy and a unique store that girls and
Women love.
It is here that the restaurant comes to be very impressive. Tables, chairs, booths, and counter top eating. A place where you can sit and enjoy the meal with a friend or friends. The help is splendid. Smiling, courteous, polite and you feel that they are there to serve you.
This is what I come for. The burger. Notice a few things right off the bat. The size of the bun. For me , just right. The bread does not cover the taste of the meet or veggies. I am old fashion and usually get the lettuce, tomato, inion, and pickle. Gone are the days when you would get fries. I could have had them if I wanted to pay for them. Now you get chips. Cheaper for businesses and will pass it off as a healthier meal. We old dogs know better.
The bun has just a touch of butter to give it that glow.
This burger looks good. Note to the healthy people afraid to eat a burger. You will like this one. I can say that I did not detect any grease from the burger. I do not know how they cooked it. I am thinking it was boiled or broiled then nuke. The flavor was flat but the combination of the veggies gave it a good taste. It reminded me of a large Mickey D burger and had about the same taste. I like Mickey D and still eat their burgers.
In conclusion this burger is good for the money. Got my receipt somewhere. Here it is. $3.95 + tax $0.33 for the burger a grand total of $4.28 cents with 0.72 cents to spare. I got water and no fries. I wanted a Coke and french fries but since I am eating these often I have to cut back somewhere. Tomorrow, off to another burger place in Midland. Odessa, TX is next month.
